In Life is Strange: True Colors, Steph continues to live because the events of the first game's ending are not directly addressed in the storyline of True Colors. The developers of True Colors have chosen to create a new narrative that is not dependent on the specific events of the first game's ending. This allows Steph to continue living in the game's world without being affected by the destruction of Arcadia Bay. **
